Please do
NOT repost this tutorial.
You may link to it, however.
Also, do
NOT steal my screen shots.
So, you downloaded some beautiful gradients
that are either Photoshop gradients or a version
of PSP gradient that your PSP program isn't loading.
This tutorial should help you be able to use those
gradients in Paint Shop Pro.
I have made this little tutorial complete with screen shots on how to do this.
This should work in ALL versions of PSP, to my best knowledge...
at least anything to PSP X2, which is what I had used
to create my screenshots for you.
*It should be noted that you can only add one (1)gradient at a time, so you will have to repeat this process for each gradient you wish to import, starting with Step Four through Step Seven. First thing you want to do is make sure
any gradients you have downloaded are unzipped.
(Step One) Next, open up your PSP program.
Once opened, click on the Materials Palette
as shown in my example (neon green arrow):
(Step Two) Next, click on the Gradients Tab.
(Step Three) Once you have the Gradients tab selected,
click on the Edit button like my example (aqua arrow):
(Step Four) Next, a box should pop up like in my next example.
Click on the Import button as shown (red arrow):
(Step Five) To import your gradient, click in the 'Look in' drop down
like shown in the next example where the pink arrow in pointing:
* It should be noted, that your PSP program is going to go to your default gradients folder that is in your 'My PSP Files' which is in your Documents folder
on your computer. With the above being said, the gradients you are going to import are going to be in this folder when you import them. To move them into another folder, please seemy other tutorial for setting your Preferences for Gradient folders. That tutorial can be found here.
You will have to scroll & select the folder you have downloaded
and saved your gradients you want to import and select that folder.
(Step Six) Once you have found the folder location of your gradient(s)
you want to import, click on that folder (green arrow):
(Step Seven) Next click on the gradient you wish to import (aqua arrow),
the click on Import (red arrow):
You should see the gradient loaded,
like in my example below (pink arrow).
(Step Eight A) If you have more gradients to import,
repeat the above steps starting with Step Four.
Once finished importing, you can proceed to Step Eight B.
*Please Note- each time you add another gradientto be imported, your PSP program is going to open up tothe default Gradients folder in 'My PSP Files', so you will have tosearch for your folder for the gradient(s) you want to importfor each gradient you are importing.I know it's annoying, but it'll go fast as longas you know where your folder is. (Step Eight B) If you are done importing gradients,
click on the Close button, as shown below (violet arrow):
(Step Nine) Once you have your gradient(s) imported,
your gradient(s) should be loaded for you to use
in your materials palette like in my example below.
Simply click OK to go back to PSP & use
the gradient you now have imported into your PSP.
If you have imported more than one gradient,
click the box as shown in my example below.
Scroll through your gradients to select the one
you wish to use, then click OK.
I hope you find this tutorial useful.
Special Thank You & shout out to
Karmalized Scraps for their awesome gradients I have used
to import for this tutorial.
